This is Israel Jr., the oldest son of the Washburn family. I served in the Maine state legislature for 10 years and in the US Congress for 9 years. After that, in 1861, I became Governor of Maine for 2 years. Enough of me though - the place you are standing is our Meeting House, built in 1829. The only way to pay for the construction of the building was to sell pews to community members in advance. One of these pews might be helpful for you now....
